Stockton-on-Tees · Athletics Club
A friendly running club in Stockton-on-Tees, training together every Tuesday and Thursday.
Stockton Striders AC was formed in 2014 and we held our very first session on Tuesday 6th January 2015. We are still going strong today. Our motto is Per Ardua Ad Alta, "through effort to high things," or "through hardship to the heights." A fitting motto for a running club and one we live by every session.
We meet at Stockton Town Football Club (Bishopton Road West, TS19 0QD, next to Stockton Sixth Form College) every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Our training sessions run from 6:30pm to approximately 7:40pm and are led by our qualified volunteer coaches. We cater for runners of all abilities, although we do ask that you can run 5K without stopping, as this is required for our sessions. Our groups are based on a member's 5K pace.
Annual membership is £20 (pro rata) and each session costs £1. Members can attend as many, or as few, sessions as they want, but must book in for a session.
Our members come from right across Teesside, including Stockton, Thornaby, Norton, Billingham, Eaglescliffe, Yarm and Middlesbrough.
We offer all prospective members a trial session free of charge, and hold an informal short meeting before the trial session (6:15pm) so that we can give more information about the club and answer any questions you may have.
Stockton Striders Athletics Club welcomes runners of all backgrounds and a wide spread of abilities, with dedicated group leaders and pace groups so nobody is ever left behind. Our sessions are built around being able to run 5K without stopping, and from that point on every pace is catered for. No judgement. Just people who love running and the Teesside community they do it in.
Running is better together. We celebrate each other's achievements, whether that's a first parkrun or a sub-3 marathon. The Striders social scene is a big part of what makes the club tick.
We want every member to improve, but on their own terms. Club coaches and experienced runners are always on hand with advice, training tips, and encouragement.
We're a Stockton club, through and through. We support local races, run local routes, and give back to the Teesside running community wherever we can.
Stockton Striders Athletics Club is run by volunteers who give their time to keep the club going.
